Trust and corrections

How Rede keeps money out of what you see, and what to do when a price is wrong.

No place can pay to rank higher on Rede.

Money does not change what you see

These are Rede's rules. Money never buys a number, a ranking, or which price a person sees. Nothing can be bought to change where a place appears. None of these is ever used to order the list:

  • Payment of any kind.
  • Advertising.
  • A partnership with Rede.
  • Who funds Rede.
  • Who you are: your name, your account or anything else that identifies you.

A provider plan buys tools only. It does not move a listing, add a badge that looks like merit, or suppress a price.

A warning, a refusal, an abstention (Rede saying it has no price it trusts), a source label, a date, and an error Rede has already found in a bill are never put behind a payment.

A provider correcting its own listing, a wrong price included, is free, so accuracy is not sold.

How the list is ordered

The places on your results are listed in the order you choose: by distance, by lowest cost, by how much of your visit has a price, or by a compatible total. How the list is ordered says what the order uses and what it never uses.

What each label under an amount means, which price types an amount can be, and when Rede shows a blank with its reason instead of a number are explained in How prices work.

Reporting a wrong price

Rede says on its results that pricing data can contain errors, that providers can change prices at any time without notice, and that some prices may be missing or out of date. If a price looks wrong, there are two ways to tell Rede.

  • Write to [email protected]. This is the address behind the Give us feedback link on the results.
  • If you have an Explanation of Benefits or a final bill for a service, open that place from Find a price and choose Tell Rede what you actually paid. Enter the patient-responsibility amount for that line, not the provider charge, the allowed amount or the insurer payment. This needs a signed-in account.

If you represent a facility and believe the information about it is wrong or out of date, the Terms of use say to reach out through the provider portal to submit a correction or updated pricing.

What Rede keeps

You can search for prices, plans and coverage options without an account, and nothing about your search is required to identify you. Rede does not sell personal data to third parties.

Rede does not currently accept, store, or send real bill or Explanation of Benefits document files to an AI processor. The bill checker receives only the line facts you type for that request.

If you use an account, you can choose to save estimates, price watches and claim details. An account can be deleted in Settings. Rede has not yet set one retention or backup-deletion schedule for everything it keeps.

The Privacy policy has the full list, and it is a draft that counsel has not reviewed yet.

Corrections

A correction starts with a report from you, by email or from a place page as above, or with a correction from the provider itself. Published prices on Rede show their source and their date, so you can check one against the provider's own price file.

Rede does not keep a public corrections log yet. One is planned. Until it exists, this page does not list corrections.
